CIABA HONORS SAM CALIGIURI AT ANNUAL ST. JOSEPH’S DAY FESTA
Hartford, March 20, 2002—The CIABA awarded its annual achievement award to Samuel S.F. Caligiuri, Esq., of the Hartford law firm Day, Berry and Howard at a ceremony held in honor of St. Joseph’s Day.
Sam’s practice consists of corporate and regulatory law. Most recently, he took a six month leave of absence from his firm to serve as the Acting Mayor of the City of Waterbury. He was first elected to Waterbury’s Board of Aldermen in 1997, and was elected as its President in January, 2000. He previously served as counsel for Governor Rowland from 1995 to 1997.
Sam obtained his Bachelor’s Degree from Boston College, a Master’s Degree from Yale University, and his Juris Doctorate from Catholic University School of Law in Washington, D.C. He presently serves on the Board of Directors for the United Way and Waterbury’s Holy Cross High School, his alma mater. He resides in Waterbury with his wife, Lori.
The Festa was co-sponsored by the Italian American Legislative Caucus and was held at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford. The CIABA would like to extend its gratitude to Senator Tony Gugliemo, Senator Biaggio Ciotto, and the rest of the Caucus for their generous hospitality and assistance with this event.
